Decoding Bhagavad Gita

After realizing the 3 types of GUNAS, an obvious question is Can anyone escape them? Krishna answers this -

"There is no being on earth or in the middle region or even among the gods or anywhere else, which is free from these 3 Gunas born out of Prakriti." (Chap 18 - verse 40)

 So we are always under the influence of the GUNAS and we continue to perceive happiness, sadness, pleasure, pain.
